This RARE antique 19th century French Louis XV style ormolu mounted marble top commode by Maison Roudillon for Alavoine & Co. is an incredible example of 19th century French furniture! This piece is made of the highest quality and is equipped with two spacious drawers as well as a French Brèche Violette marble top which truly separates it from the others. If you look closely you will also see the incredibly crisp chased bronze ormolu mounts which are of the finest quality. This piece also features a lovely french polished finish something that takes weeks to complete. It involves applying over 50 coats of shellac by hand using rubber wrapped in a cloth and requires countless hours to create the high gloss glass like finish. This piece is bound to bring a sense of elegance and sophistication into your home or place of choosing and will certainly be a topic of conversation at your next gathering or event! One nice thing about this piece is its lockable storage which makes it easy to keep your personal belongings safe and secure. There is records of an almost identical commode that was made by the Famous Francois Linke Both of the same quality standard.
