This Mid 18th Century Porcelain and Bronze Box by Meissen is truly a spectacular piece and is of the highest quality! If you look at the photos provided you will see the attention to detail within the small paint decorated scenes on each side of the porcelain box which is accompanied by a lovely bronze lif which is inset with a Mother of Pearl Clam and has rococo style engraved motifs on each corner. This box is inscribed under the lid “Daniel V. Buchs” (1707-1779) This man was the heiur to Eichberg, Schildau and Boberstein estates and a distinguished merchant and sailor in the town of Hirschberg, Germany. This piece is beleioved to have been a present to the man and dates to the mid 18th Century (1750-1760) This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own an extremely rare piece that will last your family many years to come. It is extremely rare to find 18th Century Meissen let alone pieces with an important Provenance. The piece is in good antique condition with the exception of some tarnishing to the bronze and some light surface scratches as to be expected with items over 300 years old. There are no cracks or chips to the porcelain.
