A striking collectors piece from the Mod 20th Century. This grandfather clock is an exquisite example of early American horology. It is attributed to the renowned Boston clockmaker Aaron Willard. Crafted from rich, figured mahogany with deep patina, this clock features a finely arched bonnet with pierced fretwork, turned finials, and reeded columns flanking the hood. The hand-painted iron dial showcases Roman numerals, floral spandrels, and a moon phase calendar in the lunette hallmarks of the period’s artistry. Original brass hardware and a weight-driven movement with an eight-day time and strike mechanism complete the authentic colonial aesthetic. The numbers on the back read 5050 407.
The size is 84 H X 17.25 W X 11 D.
