This is an original oil painting on canvas by listed artist , Andre Gisson (1929 – 2003). Graduated from Pratt Institute then later studied in France, he had one man shows in New York City, Washington, California, London, Paris, and Tokyo. His work is in the Smithsonian Institute, the Triton Museum, as well as in many prominent collections throughout the US and Europe. Gisson was an impressionist painter, using soft colors and broken brushwork to create a sense of calm in his landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and beach scenes. The antique gold leaf wood triple frame is exceptional. There is a very small piece missing on the upper left inside frame and a tiny spot on the canvas as seen in the photos. Otherwise very clean and in good condition. No fading or stretching. Painted around the 1960s.
Our pieces are vintage, antique, or previously owned furniture and decor. As such, they often show signs of age, use, or character—which we believe adds to their unique charm. We make every effort to describe items accurately and provide clear, detailed photos, but we encourage all buyers to review the images carefully and ask questions prior to purchase if you need further clarification.
Beauty and condition can be subjective, and while we strive to highlight both the strengths and any notable flaws, perfection isn’t always guaranteed with older or pre-loved items.
