This antique French 16 piece tantalus set is perfect for you and your home! Originally patented in 1881 by George Betjemann, a tantalus is a wooden container for glass decanters, characterized by a lock and key. The basic framework of this piece of antique decor allows two, three and sometimes four decanters to be secured within it, visible but inaccessible when locked. If you look at the photos provided, this set includes 4 etched glass decanters along with 12 etched glass stemmed shot glasses. The tantalus does have a lock and key, perfect for keeping your beverage of choice safe. This will look great in any entryway, living room, dining room or place of your choosing! The set is in good, antique, condition with minor surface scratches and finish loss as to be expected of an item from the 1910s.
