This charming matched pair of Hitchcock style chairs have solid hardwood frames mortise and tenon joinery with hand turned legs and stretchers. Seats are original woven rush that is intact. The original stencil floral and guild decoration remains visible. The chairs are in good condition with stable frames and seats. There is some surface wear and small losses of paint consistent with 150 years of use but that only adds to the patina. From the late 1800s to early 1900s.
