This is an INCREDIBLE set of 6 original Maison Jansen Balloon Dining Chairs. The original finish makes the chairs a beautifully natural distressed set. The best part is that if glanced at you may not notice how special they are but as you get closer and look for a longer period of time you will see the attention to detail in the carved frames and the distressed finish! Maison Jansen was an interior decoration office based out of Paris founded in 1880 by Jean-Henri Jansen. They specialized in mostly Louis XVI style furniture and then progressing and adapting to changes throughout the years until they transitioned into Deco and Mid Century modern in their final years. The firm closed its doors in 1989. The firm was taken over Stephane Boudin in 1920 who continued the legacy and was responsible for decorating the white house with Jackie Kennedy while President JFK was in office. The chairs are in good condition considering age with minor imperfections to upholstery and distressed finish to frame otherwise good condition!
