The white framework is embellished with rosettes and tapered legs. This French Directories’ style was a more tailored design that followed just after the more ornate Louis XVI style. The tall, squared backs, armrests, and generous seats are upholstered in an elegant, neutral silvery gray velvet with a nap that looks like silk. There is a subtle tone on tone pin dot pattern and there are reverse fabric pillows. Great as host/hostess chairs in the dining room or on either side of an entry table or fireplace. They are in very good condition and from the 19th century.
